Can someone qualify for level IV services after 2nd grade? If so, do you have to apply or are there tests that place students in the pool again?

There is a big difference between a 124 FSIQ and a 129.

I heard the same from clinician. Wisc > cogat > nnat in terms of weightage

It's ridiculous that a child would qualify for Mensa, but not AAP. For cases like this, they should at least have to provide some sort of explanation, and not just be able to send a rejection form letter.


My appeal was denied with roughly the same scores. But DC was principal-placed in AAP and is thriving

Why? A 15 GBRS is high. Plus the NNAT isn't weighted as highly as the CogAT and GBRS. I'm surprised the pp's DC didn't get in first round.


And how exactly do you know that the NNAT isn't as highly weighted? Did you consult Dr. DCUM?

I guess the gbrs is most important score. Nothing else matters if kids with 130 in the wisc are denied appeal

Guarantee nnat was below the cut off or she'd have listed it. Therefore, your kid likely had ONE score indicating admission. Instead of being annoyed, you should be glad the appeal was granted based on a single score pointing towards admission.
