You understand that this is all past tense and that the people who did it are in jail, right?

The whole lot of GOP gubernatorial candidates of my state fully agree with Trump regarding 2020 and would have absolutely gone along with him if they were in charge. Trump has reached his sticky fingers into Secretary of State races for various states (the ones who run the election process) and Attorney Generals (the ones who decide if criminal action has occurred during an election.) This deep level of ex presidential involvement is unprecedented for lower level offices in states.

It's not past tense. It's ongoing.

So they did not attack the Capitol or in any way participate, but you believe they would have in some alternate universe? We cant arrest people for thought crime.

Fully supporting an election stealing insurrection is a morally disqualify position to take for people that would like to serve in public office.

I agree with that. But simply being Republican doesnt make people guilty by association. Also, believing in using authorized administrative procedures to challenge an election is fine (even if the underlying claims are absurd), and not anywhere near the moral equivalence of attacking the Capitol.

So you're pretending to be unaware that tons of Republican candidates are running around saying the election was fraudulent, despite massive evidence to the contrary? You're claiming you don't know that Rudy made a speech to Georgia elected officials (on video), telling them the election was stolen, despite all those claims being debunked weeks before? Trump also keeps whining on about it.

People who keep saying that do not deserve to be in any elected position. They are liars.

Strongly disagree with that. All republicans know what is going and are making a choice to continue to support the party and their crimes.

He's trying to get ahead of the Committee so that when it recommends felony charges against Trump he can get on Fox News and say "It's all a political witch hunt! They are trying to prevent me from challenging Sleepy Joe and becoming President!"

MAGA supporters love to feel like they are persecuted victims, even when they are trying to stage a coup. It's all projection and DJT is the master of projection.

This isn’t about the terrorist attack on 1/6. It’s about corrupting the election process itself. Tin pot fascists and QAnon conspiracy nutbags bankrolled by the the likes of the Thiels and Uihleins who don’t view any successful Democratic candidate as legitimate. The tinhats screaming that the election was corrupt and stolen who can’t explain why the election of a single non-Democrat isn’t also corrupted. But you know that.

One way to show that Americans want to see justice done is to watch the hearings on TV, since streaming cannot be assessed. So turn on your TV to a channel that will broadcast the hearings before you leave your house, if you can't watch it live, and urge everyone to do the same. Switch the channel at your workplace to the live hearings. Contact your congress people to insist that this investigation is a priority. Retweet verified information about the investigation.

That and the backlash against extreme and inhumane abortion restrictions will save some midterm seats.
