Hey - just want to poll the parents of young teens whose kids were born in August but school year cut off is Sept. 1. How many of us are there here?
If you are a parent whose son falls in this gap - what are you doing? Is there an option to push up? I have been excited all along because my son will finally get to be the tallest and oldest since he's always the youngest at school. Today he said he was worried might not be challenged enough but then said it might help him stand out (very tall). Therefore I just wanted to come here to hear everyone's perspective about if they have a kid in this category and your thoughts.
Also, next year my son will be in 9th and will try out for high school soccer. In addition, our highest level here is ECNL - no MLS next nearby - closest is 6 hour drive.

Still waiting. All your work for GY has been an utter failure and top teams for next year are ready to go. They match all school districts.
The only thing that might be different is the school (month) cutoff dates. The year students were born is the same for all districts across the USA.
If you hold your kid back or start them early the year might be different. But the MAJORITY of students in each grade will all be a certain year/s ie 2010/2011 for Sophmores.
Wouldn't listing most will be juniors or younger be more appropriate for an age group considering they all contain multiple grades. And yes, kids who went to school late are allowed to play youth soccer.
What's the point of listing grades at all on a table you scribble on at home if they aren't used and clubs don't know the players grades?
Its because "juniors and younger" doesn't mathematically address all edge cases.
"most likely" does address all edge cases.
