2010s born after 8/1 are most likely to be Sophmores next fall not Juniors. Which is why below is mathematically correct.
Still 100% correct.
This is for next fall when SY starts.
11v11 = U18/U19 = ≤ 8/1/2007 ≈ Senior
11v11 = U17 = ≤ 8/1/2009 ≈ Junior
11v11 = U16 = ≤ 8/1/2010 ≈ Sophmore
11v11 = U15 = ≤ 8/1/2011 ≈ Freshman
11v11 = U14 = ≤ 8/1/2012 ≈ 8th grade
11v11 = U13 = ≤ 8/1/2013 ≈ 7th grade
9v9/11v11 = U12 = ≤ 8/1/2014 ≈ 6th grade
9v9 = U11 = ≤ 8/1/2015 ≈ 5th grade
9v9 = U10 = ≤ 8/1/2016 ≈ 4th grade
7v7 = U9 = ≤ 8/1/2017 ≈ 3rd grade
7v7 = U8 = ≤ 8/1/2018 ≈ 2nd grade
4v4 = U7 = ≤ 8/1/2019 ≈ 1st grade
4v4 = U6 = ≤ 8/1/2020 ≈ Kindergarten
Using U14 as an example what this is saying is...
1. They play 11v11
2. Players turn 14 after Aug 1
3. Players are younger than or equal to 8/1/2012
4. Players are most likely in 8th grade
It doesn't, travel in DMV is strict age, can't choose to play up.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Sure BS for travel but can be used for rec soccer because a bunch of them follow grades. It 100% works for travel.

They match all school districts.
The only thing that might be different is the school (month) cutoff dates. The year students were born is the same for all districts across the USA.
If you hold your kid back or start them early the year might be different. But the MAJORITY of students in each grade will all be a certain year/s ie 2010/2011 for Sophmores.
Wouldn't listing most will be juniors or younger be more appropriate for an age group considering they all contain multiple grades. And yes, kids who went to school late are allowed to play youth soccer.
What's the point of listing grades at all on a table you scribble on at home if they aren't used and clubs don't know the players grades?
Its because "juniors and younger" doesn't mathematically address all edge cases.
"most likely" does address all edge cases.

It's quite the online urinating contest, really.

Ok you can choose to believe whatever you want. The matrix is for parents that need assistance understanding how age and grade work.
It is correct, you just don't want to admit that an age group will have more than one grade.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Inclusive soccer, everyone can play
