St Olaf’s is a IFKYK. Your child will get a fantastic education there and prob make lifelong friends. What more can you ask for? I just wish it had more racial diversity.

I know a girl who went to Kentucky and seems like she had a great time. Upper middle class Montgomery county girl… at Kentucky! Love it.

But, Kentucky is in the Deep South !

Kentucky has changed it's laws for women

That’s great! Acceptance rate was 85% in 2021- but it was only 50% last year. It’s not as easy anymore to get in according to our HS counselors.

Great? No

Congrats from one parent of an art major (performing arts over here) to another! Exciting acceptances and I’m fully aware of the “extra” that goes into these applications with portfolios, interviews etc.

Thank you! And yes, it's beyond GPA, test scores and essays. Hope your child is in at a place where they're happy!

DD added an acceptance from St. Olaf today with $37k. Woo hoo! Choices. Happy holidays, all.

Total price is....??

COA this year is $77k, so $40k-ish? Maybe $42k with a tuition increase?

And that’s about $4k more than our best in-state options.

But:
1) the $77k doesn’t include flights, which really add up, especially for family going to help set up freshman year and fir graduation.
2) It’s St. Olaf, not UVA.

I think you meant to say “Congratulations”! Great choices.

Why would you say this? No need to say anything about someone else's acceptance. You are an awful person.
