Oh geez. I knew about the website but hadn't spent much time looking at it. "...middle schoolers who've already built years of preparation around Oakton High School". Aka one family obsessed with their "star athlete" competing at Oakton.
Translation: they purposely bought houses in those neighborhoods so they could go to Oakton and they have spent years schmoozing the Oakton athletic coaches.

I just clicked on that link and under “our position” it says option b.
Don’t mislead people. It also says:
“Equity and Choice: A magnet model would make Western's specialized "school-within-a-school" programs available to all FCPS students, aligning directly with district equity goals without redrawing boundaries.”
People can click the link themselves so option b if traditional or magnet but where does it say one is preferred over the other? Please also don’t mislead people especially when the bulk of the section you cited is focused on option b.
It’s literally on their “Our Position” page that they are advocating for a magnet. Stop gaslighting people.
