In his latest effort to convince voters that a vote for Curtis Sliwa is a vote for Zohran Mamdani, Andrew Cuomo posted a video featuring clip of Sliwa next to Mamdani in March. Cuomo claimed it was “proof” that “Sliwa was openly supporting Mamdani to be the elected Democratic representative.”

But the men were appearing at a memorial for nursing home residents who died during the pandemic. Nearly everyone running for mayor at the time was at the event, including seven other candidates. It marked the fifth anniversary of a health order, issued while Cuomo was governor, that patients’ families and lawmakers say contributed to thousands of Covid-related deaths among nursing home residents.

Sliwa responded to Cuomo’s video shortly after he posted it: “You have blood on your hands, you never apologized and now you’re mocking their memorial to say it was a campaign event?” Voices for Seniors, an organization representing families who lost loved ones in New York nursing homes, called the video “not just misleading” but “morally repugnant.”

It was a campaign event. They trotted out some sleazeball lunatic like Sliwa. Cuomo did nothing wrong with the nursing homes. Your parroting Tucker Carlson and Jesse Watters and Alex Jones says it all. You keep bad company.
