I don't like how the music sounds like an afterthought. Too many songs have a mood more than a melody, and even the, that music is stretched and contracted, rising and falling, speeding and slowing underneath her lyrics. It's really disconnected when listening.

I think she does. Why release these songs now? Why tell the world about these clandestine hookups, her longing for him and the dozens upon dozens of songs she wrote for him? Why risk damaging her image now that she has moved on and it is over? Her crazier fans are still doing their "no longer a Swiftie","Ratty Healy" stupidity as we speak. So to end would Taylor Swift bring that upon herself and look like a fool to her current boyfriend and to at least some of the general public if there was no chance of her ever getting back with Matty Healy? This is a man she has been in love with for at least a decade, all of her adult life so far. You don't recover from that in one summer while on a grueling touring schedule, especially when it wasn't you who chose to break it off.

In Fortnight, she tells him he won't be able to move on unless they are together "Move to Florida, buy the car you want, but it won't start up 'til I touch you."

There is nothing about this album that says “I want him back” to me. Literally nothing. She’s spilling tea, connecting dots, and saying to the world “get it now?” And then she moved right the h1ll on.

Taylor and Matty probably started talking again when Jack worked with the 1975 in 2022. She appeared on stage with the 1975 in early 2023. Joe probably accused her of cheating (“guilty as sin”) and she likely wanted Joe to make a big gesture for her to stay (“you’re losing me”). She puts “invisible string” on the era setlist to prove her commitment, but they break up and she changes it to a Matty song.


She was at his show, then he came to a bunch of hers then they imploded. Like they were probably actually physically together maybe a week or two all together.
