It would be terrible news for Biden's campaign if his opponent was a normal presidential candidate. I’m pretty sure it’s deliberate. Lots of older+comfortable people use politics as lifestyle therapy. It’s not productive and certainly isn’t good at creating allies, but it helps these folks feel good about themselves at all times. This is a big reason why they are so inconsistent over time: it’s always about their rationalization du jour.

Even in red states there is early voting and absentee voting. It’s mostly Republicans voting on Election Day. Sheriffs and militia posses are not hanging out in Dallas, Ohio, and Atlanta for 21+ days or stopping people at the Post Office lol
