I think the thing with Yorktown is that every single year they usually have two to three really strong players who get a lot of accolades and recognition. But somehow the rest of the team really steps up by the end of the season. Oakton beat Yorktown in the regional finals but then the following week Yorktown came back to beat them in the state championship. So, losing games can be an advantage if it fuels a fire to win in the end. I think any player/coach would rather have a few losses that led to a state championship over having an undefeated season but losing in the championship game.

I agree that the ISL is not as strong once the 2023s left. But the fact is, Yorktown has never won against Stone Ridge or any other ISL teams. Would they win against any out of the top 5, yes, most likely. But against Stone Ridge, Visi, this year's Holy Child and last year's Bullis and Potomac, it would have been unlikely. It shouldn't be taken so personally, it is just a fact that the publics get much more attention when it comes to awards--as teams and individuals.

I doubt the All-ISL team could beat Oakton or Yorktown and I don't even think the Yorktown team is that good. Oakton was much more talented. Yorktown had two really strong players. Indy is hands down the strongest team in Northern Va.
Regarding Indy, how many times have they won states and did they just win in Fall 2024? Just wondering...I am not too familiar with the Loudoun Co schools.

Wow. Strongly disagree.

I agree with this- Indy beat Yorktown 6-0 and Loudoun Valley in the beginning of the season and even though their teams in the district aren’t very talented, the region and state teams are. Say what you want about Independence, but no one can doubt they are a very strong team and program.
