Watched the Langley vs W-L game last night and the entire 1st half looked like a cross between a JV lacrosse game and a field hockey game. The score was 1-1 after 11 minutes of play. Except for the goalie, the entire W-L squad should be playing JV. The apparent “star player” would rather turn the ball over than pass to a teammate. I don’t recall seeing her pass the ball once in the offensive zone. She also has to be consoled by the coach when she misses her shots. Langley didn’t look much better, but was able to get some separation in the second half when W-L ran out of gas. Final was 10-5.

How did Robinson lose to Yorktown? Did they choke or did YT just have a better game that day?

Robinson was up early but their offense fell apart and YT went on a run. To show you how bad their offense was Herndon scored more goals vs Robinson. It was early and Robinson appears to have righted the shop.

So in other words, Robinson choked.

Agreed. They looked awful. It seemed like they got up and assumed the game was over.

Last year both games Madison won went to overtime and double overtime. Oakton is much better and deeper than last year with a better goalie. Madison still strong but not nearly as good or deep as last year. If anyone thinks this game is a cake walk for either team will be disappointed. Tight to the end. Whomever you select or support, 5 goals on either side is highly unlikely. Dog fight. Cougars edge Madison at home.

Gimme Madison on that all day long and twice on Sunday.

This is a line that bankrupts MGM. Madison not only covers but wins by 5.

Hi Anonymous!

Joe Morice here, the goalie's father. You'll notice I'm including my actual name.

Let's get something straight - Madison played a great, complete game last night. They did play physically, and you know what, it's a contact sport.

I believe our daughter played well. She had 12 saves against a well designed Madison offense. Perfection is unattainable, right, but all things considered she played hard and she's got a million times more guts than you do.

Madison played a good game and they won.

As to your comment, this is our family's first post here. My wife and I generally avoid this thread (I heard about your comment from someone else) because we have a little less than zero respect for anonymous commenters, yourself included.

As to your opinion of our daughter as a player, I'll be working the grill Saturday at Centreville all day, come find me. I'm 5' 8", a cosmetically not awful 246, and am 48 years old with an acceptable but not too bad amount of gray.

Come by. We're making burgers, hot dogs, breakfast burritos, and a barbecue platter! Fingers crossed the rain holds off.

You can also reach me at my phone number below.

See you Saturday!

3 claps for Joe. I like this man! Way to protect your daughter!

Good stuff Joe. Respect the goalie's game, the dad's game, and the barbecue game.
