Brandon and Tina’s Mexico getaway looked a LOT more relaxing.

This woman is in a big time rut and doesn’t seem to know it. Someone needs to tell her she doesn’t have to forcibly do the same exact thing every year. I get having an annual trip that is a tradition where nothing exciting goes on, but make that yours and keep it private because it’s just not interesting content for someone who thinks she’s an influencer.


Jen’s no longer living a real life anymore. She’s living a life dictated by a preset calendar of events meant to sustain online interest. So everything has to support the calendar. MeCamp is a perfect example. What might have worked once in 2021 isn’t working in 2024 but Jen is a slave to the calendar so she has to fish for an AirBnB is a small, precious, cute town “near water” up north and has to recreate the “magic” of the first one again and again and again. All the same beats. The local townies, the ruckus with her ride or dies, the matching sweatshirts, the local gays. Everything having to be shared, of course.

Soulless and exhausting.

She said it was more of a "writing retreat". She could have used it as an opportunity to share her process as a writer of memoir. That would require vulnerability, uncertainty, and humility.

Is it just me or was that an exceptionally boring me camp? Her pals only showed up for 2 days. The location of the rental was not enticing and the rental itself was not cute. Did anything besides the farmers market look interesting?

Why? What was the difference? Bad location? She had to pay for stuff rather than getting free deals in exchange for publicity? Why so unappealing this time?

The official ANC origin story is total malarkey. It was a fable spun up by Jen to help build a platform for her own personal advancement. Brandon only went along with the scheme cause he’s a weak man, an insecure follower by nature. It all weighed on him too, terribly bad I believe he has a conscience unlike his ex, resulting in his eventual stepping down from leadership due to being in a “spiritual funk”. This was all before the Hatmaker marriage ended, keep in mind.

The irony of it all of this is that the Hatmakers don’t even go there anymore. Barely anyone does.

The story Jen told me was that LH was just snobby and awful and when they had their huge cowboy boots revelation, they tried to make LH more missions minded, but they were shown the door. Then other families like the Todds & Gessingers and Jennings & Matens of course followed.


Was that the vision Brandon had at the church in downtown Austin? Where he felt compelled to donate his cowboy boots at the talk given about helping the homeless population? Did he talk about it in his book or was it in Jen's Interrupted book?

Undercurrent, looking back, was “LH didn’t recognize what great godly visionary people we were and were jealous so they fired Brandon” but I always felt like there was a lot more to the story …
