McLean have national champions at u19. Conference leaders at 17s, 16s are getting better. 19s are amazing, could win it all again.
Confusing to read from spirit people they don't do well at showcases or nationals. Showcase results are not a reflection of anything, minutes are split, starters don't always play, committed kids sometimes don't travel. Before McLean last year a team from VA never won an ECNL nationals. It is a very high level!!!

It’s crazy what Mikey has been able to do considering where the u15 age group was at u14, and how consistent the u16 & u17s are. It’s also worth noting how the u19 girls finished considering they didn’t have Mikey nor Larry. Instead they were given a coach with no licenses and no experience, yet still found a way to be successful based off their own abilities. Regardless of what everyone thinks of the talent level, it seems there’s some pretty special people playing at that club.
The U16s are special.
The 19 girls were good long before Miley took over --- they had good coaching and good talent.
The u19s finished closer to bottom last year, This year 2nd of 11. The turnaround in the u15 and u19 age groups at BRYC is hard to believe . The year before that the now u17s went from 8th in CCL to 3rd in ECNL. The 16s have always been special. They have very good young coaches. Larry did a fantastic job hiring young staff and giving them the platform to succeed. Do not be surprised if Larry tries to take Mikey to the Washington spirit. Mikey is young and could probably kick start the Washington Spirit academy VA...
It's not like Mikey transformed the U17s by coaching that the girls that were there, new players were interested in BRYC because it went to ECNL, and several of the best girls on the U17 team come from the U16 pool anyway. He stashed them there til he needs them for U16.
Nothing would make me happier than to see Mikey go to the spirit but it would be funny to hear him explain the move giving his constant whining about the DA model in the US.
Parent on the u17 team here, Mikey does not house his best u16 players on the u17 roster, the best players on the u16 stay there. This does not sound like a current BRYC ECNL parent as the general feeling right now is a good one and you have very little knowledge of roster situation.
Take a reading comprehension class please.
I some of the best of the U17s are from the U16 pool --- he's keeping 'em all around, just like when he moved a previous player on the u16 team down to u15 this year.
The U16s take priority, and he'll make sure that team is always rostered with the best players he has available to him, even if it means dipping into other rosters of his team to get players.
That's the only truly elite team he has, and the one that may win him a national championship.
Is that simple enough for you?
What is simple to understand is BRYC u15, u16, u17, u19 are all heading to San Diego for ECNL nationals and you are whining about roster movement. VA maybe has 4-5 Truly Elite teams (boys and girls) and you are bashing Mikey for having 1 of those teams.
Not because he has one of those teams, but because I'm aware of the poor way he treats people and his players.

When a coach brings players into a team do they not need coached, WSVA brought 20 new players into every age group a couple of years ago and they have 2 out of 3 teams bottom of the conference.
