The problem is that Angelina whisked these kids away, refused to let Brad see them. That is a very strong message to send to your kids. Mom is on your side, if you are to be loyal to Mom and remain in her good graces you accept that Dad is the enemy. She doesn't have to literally say that in order to convey the message.
