Here are my other questions:
1) There is no precision targeting going on (I have seen this first hand from a friend with family in Lebanon. Why does the media keep referring to “Israel attacks Herbollah” when it’s “Israel attacks Lebanon”
2) how does Israel’s actions make me (a US Jew) safer? Just see all the anger the IdF killing has stirred up on the board
3) how does Israel’s actions bring the hostages home?

1. “Precision” is relative. Israel is certainly targeting Hezbollah personnel and equipment, but this targeting and the weapons used are inherently imprecise. Also, Hezbollah is embedded in civilian areas, which also means more civilian effects.
2. You, as a US Jew, are relatively safe regardless of what Israel does or does not do. As Americans, containing Iran and its regional proxies is in our national interest. They threaten energy supplies, are allied with Putin, and promote terrorism, and would do so regardless of Israel’s actions.
3. Israel’s actions are clearly NOT about getting the hostages back. Israel is trying to defeat its enemies and permanently change the security situation, which it decided was untenable after 10/7. It is also (wrongly) seeking territorial expansion in the West Bank and perhaps in Gaza.
Hezbollah is not “embedded” they just are living. The news makes it sound like Israel is bombing military targets. They are not. It is sad how the media lies because of course people believe it here.
I think we in tbe US must be at a heightened risk. Many more people hate us today than on 10/6 because our weapons have killed or maimed their family members.
Israel has a right to defend itself but this is NOT defense.

Nonsense. You and I both know this wouldn't happen. Hezbollah lobs missiles at Israel because they know those missiles won't land and there won't be consequences. It's a war game.
If the air defense system were gone, Hezbollah would engage in some other "Hey we're here" methodology. Israel has nukes. They wouldn't risk the return. No one wants everything to blow up. It's just threatening posturing.
This is stupid. So now they know there are consequences will they stop?
Mutually assured destruction is a deterrent. It worked for US and Russia. It'll work for Middle East.
The Middle East leaders seems to want mutually assured destruction to actually happen. As do the Christian Rapture accelerationists.

Gag me with this tired think tank propaganda trash.
I believe I just did.

Then maybe the people of Lebanon who want to live in peace, can live a normal life
You have no idea. The people of Lebanon are being killed. They are scared and angry (how would you feel if you apartment is blown up). This is NOT a precision campaign. The Lebanese - many of whom were not anti Israel - are now anti Israel. Hatred begets more hatred.
This +100
https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israel-hezbollah-exchange-fire-after-lebanon-suffers-huge-casualties-2024-09-24/
The hatred is not limited to the region. The entire world hates Israel now and fervently hopes for its elimination. Whatever special empathy once existed for Jews has been completely extinguished by the actions of Israel.
So the entire world has no empathy for Jews because of Israel.
Do you really mean that?
Did the world ever have empathy for Jews? I think only the US had been blind and naive to their ways until we experienced it all first hand.... Rising Jewish immigration to the US = flat wage growth for white males when adjusted for inflation over the past 50 years. We've all watched Zuckerberg, Brin, Page, etc get rich while ravaging the mental health of our youth.
Our eyes are open.
Funny how Jews managed to innovate all these horrible technologies you rely on every day.
Any thoughts on when Microsoft plans to build a development center in Lebanon? How about Google? They must be overwhelmed with talented engineers over there for sure.
Oh FFS, the chasm between how impressive Israelis think they are and how impressive they ACTUALLY are is beyond measure. Notably, Israeli’s Arab neighbors have done immeasurably more to advance civilization. They just don’t squawk about it incessantly.
Which innovations do you have in mind?
