That's fraudulent.
That’s the valor way. Scamming parents out of money for the last 3 years. Sad I am not surprised by this.
We have league games but our coach is bottom of the barrel and of course you never find this out until you pay. (by the way before people comment that’s what you get on a lower team. This is a gold team coach.)
My advice for parents is when you are at games, you start being more aware of the coaches your kids are playing against. See how they interact with their players. See how they interact with their parent and refs. Go over there and make a connection. if it is a club you can make work travel wise to go and attend practice. Put yourself out there to make connections with other clubs and get to know the coach. The club Overall doesn’t matter as much if the coach is fantastic. Unfortunately the fantastic coaches that Valor has are all leaving or in our case Coach younger teams.

CYA and SYA are Valor's rec programs. They send their coaches in to assist with the rec programs, and they conduct coaching education for the rec coaches who want to go to them. I see nothing wrong with this.
My kids played SYA rec for several years before they played Valor and we never met or saw a Valor coach "assisting" with their teams. only volunteers. Didn't see any Valor people at all until tryouts. My sister coached a season and the coaching class was run by the head SYA soccer guy, not Valor. (the all star coach was a teenager and he was paid.)
I think you just don't know how to identify these folks. RO who runs SYA also works for valor. He isn't in a valor uniform but typically just a black on black adidas outfit. The all star coaches are valor kids, and the people running the tournaments are all SYA/valor mix. Rec league coaches are not affiliated with valor but the refereeing program is.
What tournaments? The in-house SYA tournaments are not run by Valor. The All Star coaches are being paid, they aren't volunteering their time for free.
I have coached several SYA rec tournaments and was never paid. The teenage kids get community service credits hours.

Soccer academy which is heavily promoted by valor and SYA (not sure about CYA) has an affiliation to one of the VALOR coaches.
BTW I would not recommend any Soccer academy program. Take your money to SYC if you are in need of a soccer summer camp.
+1.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:to be fair, people get sick or have emergencies, so a one-off situation where the coach doesn't show up but another coach is there is OK.
If it happens more than once, I would start tow onder.
I agree, emergencies happen. This is a pattern of behavior, zero communication with the parents and not a one off situation. PE has been made aware of the situation and nothing has changed.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:But then when the rec kids show up to tryouts they put them on the same field together and don't pay attention to them..... it seems they are just seen as filler for the 4th, 5th 6th teams.
ummmm yeah. filler paying 3000 a pop!
