Jeff - there are people on here threatening lawsuits (and trying to bully people into silence by planting inflamatory text and making it seem like others are saying/suggesting it). I wonder if you would be involved in any lawsuit as the "owner" of this forum?

Nobody received appeal selection notification, yet.
The trolling person consistantly suggested wrong doings of the professionsals for the past a couple of years. I'm reporting that to the organization and the pychologist I worked with.

Someone (probably with an agenda) asked a loaded question about bribery but no one else suggested it. The one who threatened a lawsuit (probably a frustrated lawyer whose child wasn't selected) needs to relax.

I agree. We didn't prep our child at all, just asked for her to be evaluated. She actually scored well, but lower than her GMU Wisc-IV, which we also didn't prep her for. Like others, we're waiting to see if her appeal was successful.

Trolling is one thing. Accusing those qualified professionals for wrong doings such as taking bribery, etc is very differrent matter.

Yes, and those children are vulnerable to getting bumped out of the classroom if a center-eligible child moves into the school. Although the teachers do everything in their power to get those non-eligible kids center-certified in the next round of AAP selections (ie) assigning a GBRS 16.

P.S. I was told that the parents of the non-eligible children who are chosen to fill the spots in the Local Level IV classroom might not get notified until a few days before school starts in September.

Our base school offers a Local Level IV program (same curriculum as center, only difference is that all kids at the center are deemed "eligible," while the kids in the base school classroom are a mix of "center-eligible" and "non-center-eligible.") My understanding is that, once the appeal decisions are published and all of the "center-eligible" children have chosen a venue (either the Center or the Base School Program), then the AART and the principal will decide which of the non-eligible students will be chosen to fill the extra slots in the Local Level IV program. The AART said the kids with the highest scores (who were denied center-eligibility) will get those spots. The next-highest scorers will be given Level III services at the Base School (those are the pull-out programs). Level II is in-class enrichment for the next level of acheivers, and Level I is a program that every child in Fairfax is provided. So, technically speaking, every child in Fairfax County is within the gifted program. Good luck, 'yall, whatever level your child falls within!!
