DP. Look, he was dumb enough to take a gun, not check (verbally with the armorer or visually by checking his own darn self) if the gun was loaded, point it in the direction of a group of people and fire it. He is still ultimately responsible. And I admit that I think he is a complete jerk (yes, I know him). But he is even more dumb than I would have thought possible with this latest act. It is really sad that his hubris and his inability to follow even basic rules (do not point a gun at anyone and don't fire it if you aren't 100% sure it is empty) caused this young woman to die. He deserves to be brought up on criminal charges and he should pay for his actions. Other people as well, but he should be at the head of the 'you're going to jail' pack.
He did check in verbally. He was told explicitly that there were no bullets or blanks in the gun.
He checked with the AD, who is NOT the armorer. He did NOT check with the person he should have check with. It doesn't matter if he asked the AD, the AD was not the person responsible for managing the guns. Alec Baldwin is WRONG because he did NOT check with the right person. Although it does prove just how dumb he was - that he didn't even think that he wasn't asking the right person. His stupidity caused the death of that young woman. He deserves to be held accountable for that.
That's ... nonsense. Strongly worded nonsense.

No, they didn't leave because of reckless gun use.

Just go back and find the link where they listed the reasons why they left. Lack of gun safety was actually one of their many reasons for quitting. Another reason was sleep deprivation. Alec Baldwin failed to address any one of the problems.
That wasn’t AB’s job.

The only responsible people were those who walked off the set earlier in the day -- as a result of safety concerns.
Those who stayed on were apparently ok with things.
The cinematographer stayed because she felt responsible for everyone's jobs. If she had walked off, there would have been no filming, possibly no film, no paycheck for anyone. And she'd be alive.
Now she's dead. And you're blaming her.
Would you stay on a movie scene with reckless gun use?

DP. He did check verbally with the AD who handed him the gun. And since there were never supposed to be live rounds on the set at any time, ever, he didn't think to ask the AD to double check by pulling the trigger himself.
These gun nuts who say that Baldwin is responsible seem so fearful of admitting that guns are dangerous. They're dangerous for the obvious reason, that people play around with them instead of being careful. Baldwin was careful and someone died because other people were playing around with the gun. Tbh, you sound like Hannah Gutierrez, who was saying that guns are safe and people shouldn't be afraid of them.
I have a lot of experience with guns and think Alec wasn't terribly responsible-- precisely because guns are dangerous. You can have experience with guns, and be a gun owner, and also believe in strong gun control and gun safety.
