That's a different argument. The point is, most people who voted for Trump are satisfied with his work, as shown and proven. You guys don't have to be happy with this fact, and can feel free to distract others from this fact. You may even attempt to change the subject as you have, but it doesn't change that this is a fact.

But try discussing facts and logic with fundamentalist Dems...I've personally given up.
I just trust independents to realize what's going on and to vote accordingly in 2020.
My guesstimate as of today is, Trump has >70% chances of winning again.
DP. I agree. It's been said before and bears repeating: the loudest voices will *always* be those of liberals. All we hear are their opinions, loudly crowing ad nauseum about how much they hate Trump, blah blah blah. There's a huge swath of "silent" voters who are observing and deciding for themselves which way to vote based on the issues. They're not the type to discuss politics in public, or to assume that everyone around them will agree with their views. They don't respond to polls. They simply vote. I'm one of those people and I know I'm not alone.

That was a very interesting poll -- do you know if it continues? I'd love to see what those same voters say today.
Not sure, but I imagine it will be ramping up again soon. Kudos to the Times for continuing to publish their very unpopular —but ultimately accurate—poll results throughout the election cycle.
Seems to have stopped after the election. And yes I can't wait to see when it starts again.

That's interesting. I'm another independent, who did not vote for him, but I think it's Dems who have behaved like traitors for the last three years.

Unfortunately I was Republican and voted for him. I voted in the VA Republican primary yesterday. In the line at 0800 I got an earful. I assume most there were Republican. I know this is anecdotal but the conversation I over heard tells me Trump is in real trouble. I guess I'm one of the Independents who does not think he's done any thing good. He's a mobster and a national embarrassment. See tonight's story that he will accept help from foreign governments. He is a traitor.

Unlike some unscrupulous people, many Americans expect the president to respect our institutions and democracy, be civil to people, not lie incessantly, not be corrupt, not be a fraud and certainly not be a Russian puppet. I truly doubt that any Dem candidate, after going through the primaries and the general election, will get to a 42% approval rate.
They will pander to the Dem base, and end with 35-40% approval of the general electorate.
So, who do you think is more likely to win, the incumbent with 42% approval rate or some unproven candidate 5-40% approval?
