Prep wants nothing to do with the WCAC.
Its been discussed on here for several years, it just won't happen. The Lil Hoyas are perfectly content with playing in the little IAC.
Sure. as the IAC is currently structured. But if the VA schools bolt for a Virginia private school league, Prep has an alternative and the others do not.
I understand why Bullis has to have athletic success to bolster its reputation and become something other than the public school you pay for.
But I doubt SSSA and EHS are sympathetic.

For that reason alone, my parents and I chose it over Prep, Landon and Sidwell. I also cross-shopped it for my kid with many of the ISL schools. Keep up the Bullis hate. We will watch it eat the rest of the IAC’s lunch in facilities, sports, academics (yes, you heard me, ACADEMICS) and community.
your current headmaster is being forced out for a wide array of reasons.
Your school will never be viewed as any type of academic powerhouse if it continues to admit kids who were asked to leave other schools for discipline or academic-related reasons.
I view Bullis as the same lens at Good Counsel but simply just double the tuition.
Wow. This is truly an awful take, and I have a son at Landon. While it may not yet be at the elite level re academics, to say that no child is worth a second chance (academic or discipline) is just an awful thing to say. Did you not make any mistakes growing up? You must be very special...My goodness. I sure did. As has most rationale thinking people. Typical statement in todays world. Never allowed to improve, evolve or overcome a bad decision.

Already facing near intolerable trips back and forth over the Potomac River at rush hour, the Virginia schools could much more easily join with Potomac, Flint Hill and some others to form a Virginia Private School League. Don't think they haven't thought about it. The recent rise of Bullis through increased emphasis on sports makes that alternative more attractive to the Virginia schools.

That leaves Landon, ST A and Bullis. I can see STA going to the same league as Sidwell.
Prep will never join WCAC because of 30+ point losses in football. They can't compete with the big 4, soon to be big 5 as Paul VI opens its Loudoun campus.

In this little, IAC world, HOW things are done does matter.
Based on decades of history, Bullis has never been seen as being quite up to snuff with the IAC schools on this side of the Potomac. The people that have sent their kids to Landon, STA, Prep and Sidwell (when it was an IAC member) never considered Bullis as an alternative.
They look at the current Bullis success and pay attention to how it is being done. The conclusion is, once again, Bullis is in the IAC, but as sort of a provisional member needed for scheduling purposes mostly.
