This clarifies rationale for certain transfers out of area.

It also clarifies that many double holdbacks do play in the private leagues around here until the reach 19 and they PG.

EHS was losing 2-8 to Bishop Ireton at the half and came back to win 13-8. Great coaching and grit by EHS players to turn things around and win convincingly. But they can't take a half off vs. IAC opponents and expect to win.

I wonder how a team like Culver would do against a top 10-20 D3 program.

Looking at the Cadets remaining non-league schedule, they still have some tough games left. LaSalle is no joke (they aren't Malvern Prep or Haverford), but still a very competitive team. Hill School school from PA is not a pushover either as I believe they have PGs on the roster and St. Anthony's is always elite.

As for the WCAC, PVI will give everything SJC can handle when they meet next month. GZ - SJC is a huge rivalry; anything can happen during those games. Good Counsel has a strong offense and can score, but its defense is suspect. After the top 4, the league drops off big time in competition.

I wasn't at the Culver game yesterday, but if the PP is accurate, and if the Cadets had 5+ man-up opportunities, and only managed two goals, I'd be very concerned as a head coach.

WCAC rules require a player can't be 19 before September 1st. So that means maybe one year holdback. Culver and the like don't have those requirements at all.

Folks can rip SJC all they want, but they do have at least a handful of very very strong offensive players, and only scoring 2 goals is pretty shocking. Culver’s goalie might be the best in the country, but still - only two goals.

Did things go off the rails early and snowball? Did Culver never put in their backup D? I didn’t expect SJC to win necessarily, but thought the game would be a lot closer that.

Other than the Haverford games, it seems like DMV schools are having hard time competing with schools outside the beltway. For the poster that said that DMV schools will no longer want to play those top tier schools the feeling is probably mutual.
