While also publicly displaying a lack of maturity and self-awareness re their role in causing the problem. We all fall short sometimes, but to be so public about it is to go above and beyond.

She received a benefit that she wasn't entitled to. If she's unhappy with DCPS, then she (and others like her) should make other arrangements.

Meanwhile see the other thread about DC potentially losing federal funds for aftercare. This just continues to feed the stereotype that the city only cares about what goes on in certain schools.

A couple wealthy schools went against DCPS policy. That's not common practice and those few families fleeing will not somehow bankrupt the system.
The Lafayette parents have greatly overestimated the appetite for redshirting and the sympathy from them.

If the principal said no I'm sure they would just accept the no. Shocking to see the entitlement of the Lafayette parents who went to the press with this and expected sympathy.
Anyone who is shocked by the truly gross entitlement of Lafayette parents must be new to DCPS. This situation is only one of many examples of them being just horrible humans.
