lol. I almost hit the deck when he said he’d stop drinking if confirmed. He’s an immature, unserious person. And his mother! Her weird interview was creepy. Smiling while talking through her teeth. Crazy cakes beget crazy.

She CC’d it to the second wife at the time she sent it. The second wife is the one who gave the email to NYT
Yikes. Thanks, mom. Reminds me of that mom in “Catch Me If You Can” turning in her son played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
This is a good comparison because DiCaprio's character in that movie was a criminal who poses as an airline pilot and a doctor and fraudulently steals millions of dollars via a check forging scheme and other crimes.
So yes it's actually a lot like Hegseth who is a huge f***up who shouldn't be running your local hardware store and has been revealed as such by his own family, who know him best.

And in my experience, people with drinking problems get worse, not better, when placed in high stress job situations.
That’s the point! He’s already creating the chaos he loves, and it looks like it’s having worldwide repercussions (and he’s not even in office yet!).
I think he made some stupid and impulsive picks. In this case, I don't think anyone knew at the time what this guy's problem was. I don't think Trump himself respects drunks at all.
It shows Trump still lacks any judgement on his part. He should have these people vetted before he nominates them, but instead, he thinks he knows all and jumps in with both feet. That's the kind of leader the US has now thanks to idiots.
+1 Trump’s stupid transition team is refusing to use FBI background checks for anyone - um, that kind of thing could save you a lot of embarrassment and wasted political capital, guys.

The second wife was the AP when he was married to the first wife. I guess she became salty when Hegseth traded her in for the AP who became the third wife.
Hedgseth has 7 children with multiple wives and affair partners.
It's a little mystifying why Republicans chose this hard-drinking lightweight. I mean, there's nothing going on with this guy except "partying." There's no thought or cause or anything, except some white supremacy and misogyny. Why Republicans are rallying around a creepy frat bro with a drinking problem and numerous issues with women is beyond perplexing. I'd like to hear John Thune and Mitch McConnell make the case for Pete Hedgseth as Secretary of Defense.
No wonder Trump likes him. He's had multiple children with 3 wives, and affairs, just like Trump. Such family values.
Having an affair is dishonest. Why would we want a proven liar in charge of our military? Military usually has honor codes that are zero tolerance so how could this liar enforce that?
He wont' he believes women are beneath men so the men in the military are free to lie and cheat-it's the MAGA way

+1 And those non-profits are Koch-backed groups full of Republicans.

Exactly. It’s funny how many millions of men (white men!) don’t have a single “false” accusation against them. Haven’t been “maligned” by people out to get them.
As it relates to Hedgseth, the people "out to get him" are current and former Fox employees, his mother and the women he beat and cheated on.
