Rich have always married young. It’s the middle class sheep who were suckered into wasting their 20s and 30s on consumerism and careerism, thus the current birth rate crisis in the West.

Is this a joke? It’s difficult everywhere to have kids, including Europe. My European friends have even less flexibility than I do.

I love my kids but they ruined my QOL. If I could do it all over again I wouldn’t have kids. No way. I had a terrific life and kids have limited me in almost every way. Only reason it’s tolerable is because I have $.

The fear-mongering over fertility is comical because it assumes they want to have kids in the first place.

Marriage and kids is a scam.


Kids are hard and a sacrifice, no doubt. My kids have also been a drain on our resources and have also altered the obvious trajectory of our careers.

But I am sitting here this morning with my daughter off at her internship (college kid) and my senior out of the house for a few days. It is empty without them. Their presence changes the house and brings meaning to my life. They also bring purpose to my life. I care about the future more because of them. The world comes into sharper colors because of them. The purpose binding my husband and I together is stronger because of them. I would say that they have increased my quality of life enormously - I would not have said that in the early years (infant-5 years) but looking back, it was true even then for me.

I’m a millennial and 27-28 had a huge wave of engagements and weddings in my friend group. Definitely not unusually young.


She’s 27, stunningly pretty, and one of the wealthiest generation Zs in the world.

I’m a millennial and 27-28 had a huge wave of engagements and weddings in my friend group. Definitely not unusually young.

Some people mature early, others later, if they ever do. Knowing what you want, finding it and not loosing it is also a sign of maturity, no matter if you find it early or late. Also fine if you never do.

Obviously not everyone wants, can have or handle a marriage. Same way, not everyone wants, can have, can afford or have patience to have/raise children. However, majority does and even if percentage of single and childless goes up, its not going to be a majority. What people think at 18, is often quite different than what they do after a decade.
