While they discuss the importance of women in STEM and the value of representation for young girls of color, they spend a whole lot of time talking about their “glam.” The most memorable, embarrassing exchange is between Lauren Sánchez and Katy Perry:

ELLE: This will be the first time anybody went to space with their hair and makeup done.

LS: Who would not get glam before the flight?!

KP: Space is going to finally be glam. Let me tell you something. If I could take glam up with me, I would do that. We are going to put the “ass” in astronaut.

Later, Sánchez says, “We’re going to have lash extensions flying in the capsule!”

She was beautiful. But why the current thick smokey eye? It just looks overly done and not fresh at all. Melania also would look better without the dark eye shadow.

It’s also normalized in the rich new money spheres because EVERY post menopause woman looks like a freak, so you look abnormal if you’re just confidently aging gracefully. The freak show surgeries are like walking around with a Rolls-Royce worth of work on your face (and chest and tummy). It’s both mental illness, peer pressure, and want to ‘flex’ that your husband has enough dough for you to piss away on six-figure surgeries.

Lauren Sanchez was gorgeous in her younger years too. But she had so much plastic surgery done that she looks like the Joker's female cousin now.

KimG looked fresh-faced and really beautiful in her Newsom days. The freak show came much later.
