Is it so hard to believe that people that are not encumbered by money get bored and try to reenact stories they read when they were a kid? Is it not possible that the whole hunting/survival reality tv and movies were not stimulating enough (nor realistic enough) for a certain population of people who disproportionately skew sociopathic?

BTW I think most people who were kids during a certain time read The Most Dangerous Game, or one of its adaptations, at school.
