As Columbus Day approaches we have now deciphered that "boatload" is a racist term. Wonders never cease I am just about too scared to write on this forum.

Obviously a boatload around here missed those lessons

"Boatload" is a racist term. Quite nasty too.

List it!

LOL times a million. A forum that is supposed to be about a neighborhood school is now about bread an calling people snowflakes.

I often feel angry, hurt and disgusted (occasionally happy and encouraged) when reading DCUM on LTES but really all I can do with the past ten posts is laugh.

This is comical beyond belief. But in short can the conversations revert back to productive discussion of the school?

So it's not ACTUALLY racist, but because you, personally, "feel" like it's racist, then no one should ever use that term out of respect for your feelings? Is that really what you're trying to say here?

It's not racist. I think it's a stupid term, and the sneering, condescending tone that people use along with it, makes me hate the phrase "special snowflake" with a passion. I wish people would stop using it.

But racist? No. Just because snowflakes are white, it has nothing to do with race. A "snowflake" just means that the parents are helicopters and think their child is special, unique, and fragile. A "special snowflake" child can be black, white, red, or yellow.

Arguing that "snowflake" is a racist term is also like saying "the pot calling the kettle black" is racist.

Question? Why so many Brent adults involved in this thread? Shouldn't we leave it open for constructive conversation from people who are in the alleged trenches of Ludlow Taylor? What's your deal?
