I liked how they laid it out, and I liked that they offer support for players who are going to play collegiate soccer but also professional soccer. I've never seen a club offer both like that.
I can't wait to get the email copy of the powerpoint.

In internal 05 matches Blue usually beats Yellow. I expect both teams will face a tough challenge against these other EDP teams. The blue team is ranked 30th in VA but that’s mainly from winning spring tournaments when some really good 06s were on the 05 team. That’s probably how they ended up in too high a EDP division
Aren't all the EDP teams playing?
Not all. Tournament is open to non EDP teams I think. Barca has 4 teams going.

Pro/rel in *youth* soccer? I missed that one, but I'd gladly go to it.
I think it beats having 10-0 blowouts across the board because teams aren't competing at the right level.
Except for the fact that getting blown out 10-0 is exactly how a team gets relegated and blowing teams out 10-0 is how the other team gets promoted.
That's kind of the point. Unless you're in the DA and have nowhere else to go.
Back to Barca -- I think one of their EDP teams is going to be relegated. Which is fine.
Which team is being relegated?
Unless EDP has no actual pro/rel, then it'd be the one that has lost all seven games and scored only twice:

EDP should never have put them in premier I division. The other Barca 2005 yellow team is in Premier IV and is appropriately placed. Won 3 games and most were competitive.
EDP has promotion/relegation so this team will be moved to a division that is more appropriate for them. I agree that this was a tough division for their first competitive season. To provide some context, No. 1 ranked team in Virginia finished 4th in the same division.
That 'No. 1 ranked team' - SDOR - isn't the same squad as in previous seasons (lost players to DCU) and probably weren't the No 1 team, anyway...so the context you are providing is incorrect. Barca 05 Yellow is a mid level travel team.

Our league has rec and travel. For U9, I think it was around $1800 for travel (and the nutjob coach is free wth purchase). I am sure many pay more than that. $3,000 seems really expensive to me.

Some 05s are also playing on the 04 team.

Is $3k a year a lot of money? Sure. So is paying more than that each month for a mortgage. It’s only too expensive if you can’t afford it. $3000 for a structured, professionally run activity 4 days a week 10 months a year for my kid at one of the best fields in the area? Sounds like a pretty good value to me. There are parents paying that amount for piano lessons, after school gymnastics, family vacations. There are kids with $1000 iPhones. Who is the judge of what is too expensive and where a family can choose to allocate their money?
I think it was brilliant to place that academy where they did. Right in the middle of upper middle + income America. Very shrewd move to make lots of $$ from the jaded parents of those kids not taken in on the A or B teams of nearby clubs. Absolutely brilliant!
