Pathetic views like myself who have watched for 7 years remember that he was extremely abusive to his daughter. Like total piece of shit. No Dad would ever give that guy the light of day ever again. I will say at that one baseball game Randy himself told Aubrey to go over and say hi to her dad.

Remember all the shit Adam did to Chelsea while she was pregnant and after Aubree's birth ("ya fat stretch marked bitch")? He owes Adam no favors, and neither does Chelsea. You want to show up for your kid, then show up. Nobody should have to hold Adam's hand.
It's a different situation, because Randy's been in Adam's shoes, more or less (been a young father, had children with an ex) and clearly made completely different choices. He gets to judge because he's been there.

Probably good that he's there!
Of course he's happy to be there! First time he's being stimulated with age appropriate toys, surrounded by kids his age. We all know Janelle wasn't in any local playgroups for Kaiser to learn to socialize properly. First time he'll be around stable adults who can focus on children and speak in front of them appropriately. This is the best decision Janelle made after giving Jace to Barb.

No reason she can't put her own personal feelings aside, tell her dad to grow up, and let her daughter have a relationship with her dad. No reason they can't shoot the breeze for a moment then dissipate at sporting events or school plays, for the sake of Aubree. No reason they can't civilly meet in a parking lot and do drop off, "How are you, Adam? How is Paislee?" for the sake of Audrey. Nobody says she has to love him, but Aubree DOES. It shields a true level of maturity when you can put your feelings (your DADS feelings) aside and coparent.
I have a feeling if Chelsea (AND her dad) calmed down and became civil, Adam would make an effort.
The only problem with this is that ADAM DOES NOT SHOW UP. Aubree has more of a relationship with Adam's parents than with Adam.
Chicken and egg. Maybe he would if they could make an effort to make him feel welcome.
Ok Dr Drew. Chelsea made herself look like an idiot for years bending over backward for Adam and now that she's stopped and he's still a shitty dad you think that's on HER?
No, I think it's on her dad. I think he influences her greatly. I think he wouldn't care less if Adam was gone tomorrow. That kind of opinion does nothing for Aubree, who ultimately suffers. I think Chelsea would be just fine acting civil if her dad was on board. She still carries a torch, if not only for Aubree.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I personally think the main issue with Chelsea-Adam-Aubree is that Chelsea won't allow herself to just be civil with Adam for Aubrees sake because her dad wouldn't like it.

It is no secret Adam is pretty much a non-existent parent. What's wrong with suggesting Cole fill in as "dad"? He already IS! He's living there, he's dad to her soon-to-be-brother! Why the shudder at the label?
Maybe Chels should stop scanning the crowds for Adam and constantly trying to make something work with Adam as dad, when clearly it isn't working at all? She needs to give up on that. She still seems to have a really hard time doing that.
Chelsea explained on twitter that Aubree was uncomfortable and her mom wasn't taking the hint.
I think Chelsea does a good job of letting Cole naturally fill in as dad. She's letting Aubree grow and realize who Adam really is. Chelsea doesn't need to, and shouldn't talk badly about Adam in front of Aubree. That's Child Psych 101.
I guess that makes sense. But she's always hinting with her, "Did ANYONE ELSE show up at school for your birthday?" And other things. Just give it up. He isn't coming. She obsesses about him not showing up. He's been not showing up for like 7 years. Why are we even talking about it anymore! Some dads are absentee, she should just be glad Cole is stepping up.
This. While in agreed wholeheartedly with her reaction to her mom's inappropriate talk in front of Aubrey, Chelsea talks to others about Adam in a derogatory manner within in aubrey's earshot all the time.
