This isn’t about National Security, which gained nothing in the deal but was crippled by turning our allies against us, setting an example for our enemies that we’re all in favor of imperialist expansion, and proving to the world at large that America is not to be trusted and has switched from being a champion for freedom and justice to “the dark side”.

Trump is not motivated by principles or by the best interests of America. He is solely motivated by self-interest, as it affects his personal finances, power, and ego. He traded American safety and standing (which will have negative economic impacts) for personal profit. Mission accomplished.
