No spring season is crazy. I know a lot of high school kids who are having a spring season.
I would be livid if I was a 2009B parent. Are these kids even going to come back after what this debacle?
This is across the board at all clubs currently. ECNL-R as a league does not have a spring season. Most top kids play HS, and the vast majority are not 8th graders. If your kid is a freshman and didnt make HS, it should beg to question if they really good enough to be on top team.
OK, so the club knew there would be no spring season. I am sure this was announced to parents prior to them accepting spots innthe team and paying for a year of soccer? Why are they charged the same fees when they aren't getting games or practices?
They should have put them in ncsl d1 or edp for the spring season, or scheduled
freestanding games against other teams.
We were never expressly told we would not have any games spring season. A parent with an older soccer player shared that he didn't think there would be. But Coach kept saying he was setting up scrimmages -- message April 1:
"I am currently working with Loudoun, VSA, Vienna, McClean and LMVSC on getting scrimmages for the spring sorted. They are like us and have a mix of freshmen and 8th graders, and hopefully this week we have some dates set!"
So yeah, even up to 17 days ago this is what we have been told.

Its a 2009 team, half the kids will be 8th graders

That's fraudulent.
That’s the valor way. Scamming parents out of money for the last 3 years. Sad I am not surprised by this.
We have league games but our coach is bottom of the barrel and of course you never find this out until you pay. (by the way before people comment that’s what you get on a lower team. This is a gold team coach.)
My advice for parents is when you are at games, you start being more aware of the coaches your kids are playing against. See how they interact with their players. See how they interact with their parent and refs. Go over there and make a connection. if it is a club you can make work travel wise to go and attend practice. Put yourself out there to make connections with other clubs and get to know the coach. The club Overall doesn’t matter as much if the coach is fantastic. Unfortunately the fantastic coaches that Valor has are all leaving or in our case Coach younger teams.
If everyone is paying the same very inflated price, then all the teams should have good coaches! They should be passing on the inflated cost to coach pay to get good coaches. Even the rec level Valor teams should have good coaches.
