She is 100% responsible for being on drugs, basically being a drug dealer, buying guns, leaving them unsecured around her violent young child.

Now it’s getting worse. It’s come out the teacher hasn’t been paid since February even though her contract goes until August. The school system tried in February to strong arm her into taking workman’s comp (which I assume would negate her argument re her lawsuit) so she refused and then they just stopped paying her.

This week, they fired her via email.

This entire case is just a $hitstorm. That poor woman. She’s had no income since February. None.

To take the right stand. If a parent causes trouble, it is easier to give in. Taking a stand means going up the ladder and bosses don't like that.


IME the limited options available to admin when parents refuse testing or services is repeated suspension leading to expulsion, and they are loathe to do that to a child in the early elementary years. Instead these kids with severe behavioral issues just get managed until they are older and the consequences can no longer be avoided because of the severity of their actions. We need more options.

The custodial parent is absolutely responsible. As women, that's why we need to be careful about casual sex and who we choose as a potential father of our children. If a custodial parent makes the decision to use and sell drugs, buy a gun illegally, not keep children safe from guns, then yes -- the parent or guardian with whom the child resides is responsible. Those of us who work in schools aren't allowed to ask questions about absent fathers, etc. The parent sitting in front of us who enrolled the child in school is indeed responsible. I will add that this school appears to be very poorly run with some ineffectual "leaders" who made an incrdibly bad decision to have a drug using parent in the classroom each day.
