It is strongly being considered to start next year and would just be involved within each league or tournament rule book.

It may get tabled until 27/28 to allow for a year for the dust to settle with new age group changes.

Just to clarify NO 36 month age range would be allowed. Only players each year who fall under U18 could play with their correct grade. Because there will not be a U18 age group. Will be U17/19.
So no two year hold backs or anything like that. 23 months would be most allowed and only for what is considered the highest level of competition in youth soccer.

They don't even collect and verify all kids grades around here. Adding grade doesn't make any sense because it listed on tables from actual clubs around here. It's just one person's hopes and dreams.

High schools allow students to be held back two times. This means 36 month older players (2 years older ie held back twice) in GY.

SY with August birthdays playing on the team thats their grade in school. Which is all 100% allowed under SY League rules. The oldest any player can be is born on 8/1 per year / level. End result is all players on the field are the same grade in school.

GY is any player a certain grade in school can play on the team. This allows 36 month older 2x held back "Sophmores" as an example.

The big difference is SY with Aug birthdays playing on their correct grade in school team is the most fair for the most players and it works well with p2p club processes.

I'm not pushing for anyone 36 months older to play with younger ones. But why are you pushing August kids to play up with grade but not allowing 36 month older kids to play with kids in their grade. Yes I realize there is a difference between 13 and 36 months, but who are you to decide which duration is appropriate vs too long? Aug birthdays playing on their correct grade in school team avoids 8th grade teams with Freshman that play HS soccer during the season. Which makes things much easier for clubs.

Being corectly aligned by playing on the correct grade in school team makes recruiting much easier for players. Which boosts college commitment numbers for clubs and players.

Some players have crap HS soccer programs and prefer to keep playing with club whenever possible, so they're good on playing with 8th graders, if they can under the rules.

Also, if correct alignment is essential for college recruitment, might as well as go to complete GY to appease all those coaches.

U18/U19 was created so holdbacks could play on their grade in school team Senior year.

Not sure your point since recruiting is largely done at that point.

Schools generally allow students to be held back twice. If the school cutoff was Aug 1st the means the oldest were born Aug 1st and youngest in that grade were born on July 31st.

Hold back an Aug 1st birthday twice in school and they are now 36 months older than the youngest possible July 31st birthday in that grade.

SY with August birthdays playing on the team thats their grade in school. Which is all 100% allowed under SY League rules. The oldest any player can be is born on 8/1 per year / level. End result is all players on the field are the same grade in school.

GY is any player a certain grade in school can play on the team. This allows 36 month older 2x held back "Sophmores" as an example.

The big difference is SY with Aug birthdays playing on their correct grade in school team is the most fair for the most players and it works well with p2p club processes.

I'm not pushing for anyone 36 months older to play with younger ones. But why are you pushing August kids to play up with grade but not allowing 36 month older kids to play with kids in their grade. Yes I realize there is a difference between 13 and 36 months, but who are you to decide which duration is appropriate vs too long? Also, if correct alignment is essential for college recruitment, might as well as go to complete GY to appease all those coaches.

U18/U19 was created so holdbacks could play on their grade in school team Senior year.

Not sure your point since recruiting is largely done at that point.

Nope, they'll be unrecruitable! Wrong grade. Now, where have I heard THAT before?

Parents tried to cheat, they got caught and now their holdback kid has to follow the rules.

Nobody cares.

College coaches apparently do. They don't have time to find these players in they aren't in the RIGHT grade. This is why GY is necessary.
