When I’m proven right which I will be just remember this scene from Batman.
"I never said thank you," to which Batman replies from the rooftop edge, "And you'll never have to".
So age guy is Mr USYS
Now we know why he's pushing for 36 month older players to play down.
Playing down is the only way C team players can compete against correct age/grade players.
Word of advice. Instead of trying to cut corners maybe USYS should focus on making clubs and teams better.
You mean your conversation with yourself?
Sorry grade exists and when its applied to your 36 month older player playing down nonsese people quickly see why it doesnt make sense.
Age guy / mr usys has been trying to start a rumor that leagues will start doing GY showcases for almost a year.
High schools allow students to be held back two times. This means 36 month older players (2 years older ie held back twice) in GY.
I'm confused. But aren't you the one pushing for grade alignment?
SY with August birthdays playing on the team thats their grade in school. Which is all 100% allowed under SY League rules. The oldest any player can be is born on 8/1 per year / level. End result is all players on the field are the same grade in school.
GY is any player a certain grade in school can play on the team. This allows 36 month older 2x held back "Sophmores" as an example.
The big difference is SY with Aug birthdays playing on their correct grade in school team is the most fair for the most players and it works well with p2p club processes.
I'm not pushing for anyone 36 months older to play with younger ones. But why are you pushing August kids to play up with grade but not allowing 36 month older kids to play with kids in their grade. Yes I realize there is a difference between 13 and 36 months, but who are you to decide which duration is appropriate vs too long? You are making a huge deal about grade alignment but you are not 100% consistent in age window.
You've been trying to start a GY showcase rumor for over a year. All based on your misinterpretation of US Soccers announcement that SY will allow more players in the same grade to play on the same teams. You are so determined to play 36 month older players against youger players that you concocted nonsense in your head about leagues allowing players to play down. To reinforce the nonsense you made up in your head you fight against Aug birthdays playing on their correct grade in school team. This would allow all players to be the same grade at games. Which is what college coaches want. Which you dont want because it eliminates the need to play 36 month older players down.
Aug birthdays playing on their grade in school team was the norm in pre 2017 SY. I never heard of Aug birthdays playing on grade down teams. If this is the way it was back then its the way things will be once we switch back to SY this fall.
Sorry your holdback/regrade kid wont get to play down.

Aug birthdays playing on their correct grade in school team avoids 8th grade teams with Freshman that play HS soccer during the season. Which makes things much easier for clubs.
Being corectly aligned by playing on the correct grade in school team makes recruiting much easier for players. Which boosts college commitment numbers for clubs and players.
Some players have crap HS soccer programs and prefer to keep playing with club whenever possible, so they're good on playing with 8th graders, if they can under the rules.
Also, if correct alignment is essential for college recruitment, might as well as go to complete GY to appease all those coaches.
U18/U19 was created so holdbacks could play on their grade in school team Senior year.
Not sure your point since recruiting is largely done at that point.
And there it is. You want to play 36 month older players against younger player so they can get recruited. Nobody is stopping holdbacks from playing on teams with players their age. Totally possible to get recruited
Nope, they'll be unrecruitable! Wrong grade. Now, where have I heard THAT before?

I specifically dont want 36 month older players playing down against younger players.
I'm not arguing for anything. Individual wants, hopes and dreams like yours are irrelevant. They are just selfish takes to help you and hurt others on a zero sum game.
Just recognizing that grades aren't part of the rules, teams in DC area don't force kids playing up and actively discourage it for almost all kids.
The showcase GY rumors that I didn't start are an open rumor so really the last thing available for discussion for next year.

False. When you say, "This would allow all players to be the same grade at games" you are arguing for Gy.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Forcing only Aug to play Gy but other months to not doesn't even come close to "allow all players to be the same grade at games." You can't be that stupid. What you dont seem to get is I don't want GY. You want GY.
I want SY with Aug birthdays playing with their correct grade in school team. Or BY so grade in school is completely ignored.
I specifically dont want 36 month older players playing down against younger players.
