I thought the GOP was opposed to 'death panels?"

It looks like the GOP is finally waking up to this.

McCarthy and McConnell both publicly encouraging Americans to wear masks.

Kansas and other "red" jurisdictions are requiring masks...maybe if they had done this in April, we would be in a different place now.

I fear it might be too late to reign in control of the pandemic, but better late than never, I suppose.

Not true in DC, Boston, NYC...

Or Chicago, or Jersey, or Philly...

Do I have this right that the Trumpsters believe the spikes are caused by protests - even though we are not seeing spikes in many of hte places with the biggest protests - but *not* by reopening bars and restaurants?

Does that mean they believe outdoor transmission is more of a risk than indoor transmission generally?

Or they think transmission happens both places and they don't care either way?

Let’s give it a couple more weeks. The virus is not political. So we should put politics aside and just look at the facts. If DC, NYC etc don’t see spikes from the protests, we should learn from that to help us figure out what behavior we should ramp down in and what is relatively safe. Like the Lake day the ozarks party. Outdoors does seem to be quite a bit more protective than indoors.

No, it's correlating perfectly with the reopening of bars, restaurants and other indoor spaces in those places, along with a weak/nonexistent public health response. The governors of Texas and Florida ENCOURAGED people to live their lives and downplayed any increase infections. Do we need to post the videos of all the stupid things they've said the last few weeks?

Huge spike in cases now correlating perfectly with the protests.

If the protests were the reason, then why isn't the DC area seeing a rise in cases?
Because they were outside and wearing masks. Let's learn from that.

The places seeing cases increase are where few people wear masks, bars and restaurants have been open for weeks, and the population has been told they have nothing to worry about.

There were protests in all 50 states. And 31 don’t have rising cases so...
