You haven't heard the tapes, yet make confident declarations that they are "embarrasingly incoherent" - That's one sure sign to show you're just making shit up.
DP.
There is a reason they won't release them. And, it is not due to the bogus excuses they have given.
Either the transcripts were altered or the tapes are really THAT bad.
Are you claiming that Special Counsel Hur published fake transcripts?
DOJ said it was altered.
They removed repeated words and things like “uh” and “um.”
The tapes aren’t relevant to the congressional investigation. They have the transcript. They have the report
There seems to be a significant degree of distrust between the Biden DOJ and Congress (for numerous reasons), so you'll excuse many Americans if they don't believe just "uh" and "um" were removed from the transcript. The WH itself has admitted that it substantively altered transcripts of Biden's various meetings and speeches to remove gaffes.
As for relevancy, Congress gets to decide that per separation of powers.
In any event, Congress knows Garland will fight tooth and nail not to release the recordings, and it's Garland's resistance that is fueling the headlines. It will be interesting to see if the "Inherent Contempt" effort will go anywhere. If it does, then you may very well see Garland arrested live on TV.
