No spring season is crazy. I know a lot of high school kids who are having a spring season.
I would be livid if I was a 2009B parent. Are these kids even going to come back after what this debacle?
This is across the board at all clubs currently. ECNL-R as a league does not have a spring season. Most top kids play HS, and the vast majority are not 8th graders. If your kid is a freshman and didnt make HS, it should beg to question if they really good enough to be on top team.
OK, so the club knew there would be no spring season. I am sure this was announced to parents prior to them accepting spots innthe team and paying for a year of soccer? Why are they charged the same fees when they aren't getting games or practices?
They should have put them in ncsl d1 or edp for the spring season, or scheduled
freestanding games against other teams.

DS #1 coaches U11 girls and had a baby and is moving to Vermont and people want to know who the new coach will be for the team.
DS #2 is an employee of CYA soccer and also separately an employee of Valor soccer and coaches U15 boys.
Lol who cares that he had a baby? Immaterial, DS 1 is a terrible coach who is moving to Delaware. Can't happen fast enough. IF he cared about the girls he would leave now so the team can repair the mess he left.
No one is wondering who will take over because the club has already told us.

DS still listed for 2009B but under Sofiane who also has another top team of 2008Bs.
Is this going to be a bait and switch? We pay excited about Coach only to be told that Sophia is busy and we get stuck with DS?
I mean assuming my kid makes top team.
And what’s with announcing on IG? Couldn’t they have at least let current Valor participants in on the secret first??

Dont know where you were hearing DS was not going to be with boys. My take is SA is there as a backup help out. And to stop the complaining of parents. The parents complaining are the ones the boys shouldnt be on team in first place.
SA is pretty sure he's top. That's what he's told parents.
And NO - the parents complaining are not just the ones with kids who shouldn't be on the top team.
My kid is on the team. I've heard the complaing. For years now.
Is your kid in the age group? On the top team? Where are you hearing SA is just a backup?

at this age not alot adjustments are made.. rarely a kid or 2 gets demoted.. the next chance is when they jump from 9v9 to 11v11. Unless your kid has a messi tryout or is known outside club its hard to get promoted.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:So late not to have the full list out. These people have to be hired and available to oversee tryouts and select their teams in two weeks.
When a new coach is coming in, how much does the input of the current coach factor in? Is there a chance that the new coach bumps a kid down based on what they see at tryouts? Or do they weigh the current coach’s assessment more heavily? If a player is a starter who always gets lots of playing time, are they pretty safe bet to stay where they are? Or are there situations where new coach(es) come in and shake things up?
