Trump’s increasingly desperate bid to hold on to power as other viewers. The panel did not provide them with videos or transcripts of her taped interviews with committee members beforehand, according to several officials, leaving them feeling blindsided," The Times reported.”
I’m laughing at this right now. Maybe SOME DOJ officials were blindsided. Highly doubt the actual prosecutors on this were. NYT sources are highly suspect.
They are blindsided because they are not actually doing anything. Now they have to scramble because the committee gave proof of witness intimidation. Something DOJ is always saying is a big thing they will prosecute. Basically the committee is shaming DOJ in to doing something. DOJ is a joke. Do not look for DOJ to do anything.
Yes, if the DOJ is too stupid to interview the Chief of Staff’s principal assistant who was in the middle of it all taking notes and answering and routing phone calls to and from her boss and GOP Members of Congress, what kind of investigation are they doing?
You’re both just speculating that DOJ hasn’t interviewed her.
DOJ whined to the New York Times that they didn’t have any clue about much of her testimony. So either they didn’t interview her or they were incompetent at it.
Direct quotes? I don’t find the NYT to be trustworthy. They have shown that they are on the side of the fascists.
Read the headline. They said they were blindsided. In other words, they were clueless.

Do you mean the way Ornato relayed the story?
Look at the white cuffs through the SUV window in the snippet of video they showed. He’s right behind the front seats and is waiving his arms around like a lunatic.
Can you link to the video and point to a time? Because I saw a 4 minute clip of a series of cars waiting, then leaving after the speech, and not only do I not know which one the President was in, I do not see anything through the windows, apart from a few movements, but not anything or anyone recognizable.
Ah, OK, just saw the PP's clip. It looks as though Trump is waving at the crowd. He could be gesticulating in anger, but his cuffs are not far enough towards the front to touch the steering wheel or anyone in the front seats.
How can you not see it from that really clear video?![]()
He's definitely flapping his arms around but the Suburban is leaving the back way. There's no crowd for him to be waving to.
Nobody claimed this is a video of Trump choking anyone. POs are pretending people said that so they can at least have something to refute. Lame.

Lol. There was no crowd to wave at. They were facing the other way. Try harder.
Sigh. I've posted multiple times over the years at this IP address with lefty posts. I fully support the Jan 6th committee hearings, and any DOJ investigation that can finally mete out justice.
But that video DOES NOT SHOW anything that can be used in a court of law. You will note that the Jan 6th committee DID NOT claim Trump was doing anything untoward in that video. They relied instead on the indirect account of Cassidy Hutchinson. There is a reason for that - if the video had shown anything obvious, they would have used it.
Please. It really hurts our cause when you claim things you can't prove. There is important evidence that has been described by sworn witnesses, and there is likely to be much more. You do not need to make up stuff!!

Don’t be so dense. No one said this was proof of assault or anything of the sort. I posted it to refute the constant stream of bullshit that his seat is so far back that his arms would have to be 8 feet long to grab Engel. It shows he’s close to the front seats and waving his arms. “Court of law?” WTF is wrong with you?
