I know many brilliant people that excelled without GT/AAP, myself included. (I am a research scientist with a PhD). As a child, I would have been the child with the GBRS of 3 and a high WISC (I was very young for my grade, with a dec birthday, turning 5 half way through ) fact, instead of anything like AAP, I was held back in 2nd grade
you miss the point ma'am (or sir). It's not about the kid. It's about the parents who are posting. Their identity/social standing is tied to this result. It's bragging rights!
Hell the kid doesn't know and doesn't care.
