She’s looking for 50 investors or founders. If she gets 50 founders, that’s $600K. Hell, I’d host 50 folks at my house too for that kind of coin.

She spoke about the ending of her marriage at this last weekend’s noonday conference. So if you were there and heard it, or know someone who went, let us know what she shared.

Well, here’s an example…. If Jenn wore a hat one Sunday… in no less than 2 weeks, there would be 4-5 other women wearing hats. Same with knee high boots.

Honestly, I didn’t know her that well and she was just getting bigger in her celebrity. Mind you, this was at least 12 yrs ago just about the time they adopted. Brandon was more working the church and preached nearly every week. Jen seemed more approachable at that time. However, I do distinctly recall that she didn’t seem to mingle too much with anyone outside her tribe (the jargon she loves to use). They both seemed fairly grounded and doing things for the right reason.

Towards the end of our time at their church, however, it had become evident that there were the cool kids and everyone else. And that is ok. I just never played into that. All the women in her group dressed similarly- following her fashion. They all sat together etc. Then, there were the rest of us. It was very odd for me. It was very “bless your heart-ish” as you felt you were being looked down upon. You know, smiling to your face and eye rolling behind your back. Just my experience. Others may disagree. There were a lot of really good people who went there.

Hi Tray!

She was paying tribute to Tray- long time friend and fellow church planter with the Hatmakers. She was espousing how great he is and that he and another girlfriend’s husband were there waiting outside their house while presumably she had the hard conversation with Biker Brandon. The context was sweet but she’s over the top as usual. Tray actually is grounded and a really good person. He was more down to earth and relatable than most the Hatmakers. The Hatmakers couldn’t have cared less that we were attending their church— we weren’t one of them. That’s what really turned me and a lot of folks in our study group off to them. They were more interested in telling you all they were doing rather than actually caring about the people who went there. Tray is the real deal.

My biggest pet peeve is the nonstop pushing of Able. I'm sorry, but I cannot afford to shell out approximately $150 on each piece of clothing that I buy so that she can model their stuff and receive it as a likely free kickback.

I'm sure things were real in the beginning and she had great intentions. But to stay relevant and make money, she has to be marketable. Thats the problem with the evangelical complex.(although she's morphed into some other persona now)
