Even the alarmists aren't predicting everyone will get it. Herd immunity kicks in at 70%.

Not a scientist. Anyone know whether herd immunity is even possible with Covid19? It sounds like if you get it you only have protective antibodies for a few months

You will get the rising death rate. It could be a couple of weeks out. If the people getting the virus now are young, it would take until they transmit to the vulnerable before you see the explosion of death cases. But it is inevitable. Waiting for the death rate to climb means that you are way way too late to contain. The time to act was a week ago. Health officials and political leadership need to take this seriously and put protocols in place. Those that don’t are guilty of malfeasance at best and murder if being hyperbolic.

Part of me wonders if they’re just thrilled to be lowering Medicare and SA costs. Think about how much money we could save if 200,000 old people were off the dole!

This is why Trump is doing poorly in the polls with the 65+ year olds.

I don’t care how many people test positive. If the death rate does not go up, and in fact, continues to drop, that shows the science is correct - spreads easier but is much less deadly.

We added 47,341 new cases today, another record setting day. Death toll has not gone up, yet.

Florida added 8,942 cases today.

The positivity rate is 7.4%.
