What happened with the DCE coaches that were assistants at Bullis? Was there a connection to Bellestri's termination? Did the school decide that the DCE connection was so important that it had to move this way? I understand that DCE has a lot of money tied up in the renovation of the Bullis fields and that it is a long term relationship.

Pathetic on the Bullis administration if true.

There was/is a power struggle between Bellistri and the assistants. Bellistri is a long time coach and teacher there. Even if he mistreated the assistants, it is disappointing to see him forced out. He did a very good coach as the Bullis head coach.

So it sounds like a few of the current parents on the team are not happy with playing time and complained to the administration.

What a joke!

On the Bullis board or on the DCE board?

DCE doesn't have a Board. Bet its a dad whose son isnt that good and is mad his kid isnt playing. Typical entitled DC type who uses his money to buy his way.

Don’t be a fool, they are not making a change because of a kid not getting playing time...Bullis historically plays the best kids regardless of age or how long they have been in the program...and it has been successful. This move is about long term direction of the program. Whether this proves a good move or a bad one is open to debate. Time will tell.

Not trolling but successful in what way? Bullis et al have been very successful in winning games on the field but at the cost of putting full tuition students on the bench. The 1 or 2 year transfers play and win and then those families disappear from the school, meaning no future donations. The kids on the bench grow up being bitter and they don't give either.

IMO, the strategy has showed increased downside as tuitions have risen dramatically to support the athletic transfers. But maybe it's all been for the good since the facilities at the schools are fantastic. Bullis has the STEM center and incredible fields and the other privates have all done fantastic renovations.

Let's see if Bullis doubles down by hiring an even more aggressive coach or if they go in a different direction.

If you look at the comments on the petition link a lot of past and present Bullis Families are not very happy with the change.

This move is about long term direction of the program.

How would they not want to stay in the direction they are already going - highly successful.

Does anyone have any insight on the situation? We are considering no longer looking at the school now.

Yes, why did the '21 DCE team get mentioned?

Agree they won the IAC because of the rampant number of high profile transfers, not coaching.

There star transfer has already gone back to Charlottesville for his senior year.

I don’t see anyone on their board of trustees who has a kid on the roster.

Here's a link to the Bullis Board of Trustees - https://www.bullis.org/page.cfm?p=963

I don't see anyone with a '21 kid on that page that might play for DCE.

They won the IAC because they were loaded . . . with transfers, not because they had great coaching. The head coach sets the tone, and apparently it wasn't a good one.
