+1 she’s all kinds of unresolved and faking her way “past” it. Though we all know….

Many of the songs are growing on me after a few days; still think it needed an edit. I guess what I’m thinking about is, to agree with a PP, is she ok?? this all seems like she’s trying to get all this off her chest by dumping it out into the world , and also that it’s not resolved (despite her writing in the cover that it is). In fairness, 1) it was the talk show who started telling that awful story (such bad form, and MH should have absolutely walked out at that point); 2) no one, and I mean NO ONE should ever reveal publicly their porn of choice and what gets them off - it wouldn’t end well; and 3) one stupid mistake or even three mistakes shouldn’t mean that you get cancelled, death threats are sent to your family and your decade-long love story ends abruptly.

I hope Taylor continues to speak out against this, the way she bravely did in “But Daddy I Love Him.”

Me too. I was disappointed and felt like it was blah. Then I listened to more songs through the channel on Sirius XM (they played the new stuff on loop that first weekend) and there are songs that are rising pretty high for me. The ones you noted absolutely, and then Robin and The Prophecy. I think The Prophecy is my favorite right now. It hits the same way Bigger than the Whole Sky hits, all in the feels. I really am starting to love this album.

But I’m finding myself liking it more and more, singing bits and pieces of several songs thru the day. Fortnight, TPPD, Down Bad, Who’s Afraid…, I Can Do It with a Broken Heart among my favorites.

He is kind of old to be doing the whole "edgelord" thing.

She is heartbroken after being in love with the same person all of her adult life and finally getting a shot with him last year only to see it crash and burn after a fortnight. I blame social media and the current cancel culture, to which even the most famous billionaire of our time can apparently become a victim.

I think Taylor is def suffering and depressed over the loss of the love of her life. In several of the new songs she writes how she can’t get out of bed (loml, Down Bad) and is a functioning alcoholic. Matt Healy was looking so fine last winter and spring but now he looks like a broken mess too
