Is this going to be a bait and switch? We pay excited about Coach only to be told that Sophia is busy and we get stuck with DS?

I mean assuming my kid makes top team.

And what’s with announcing on IG? Couldn’t they have at least let current Valor participants in on the secret first??

No, only the gold teams matter to Valor. The rest of you are just interchangeable kogs paying $3000 each. So no rush to announce those coaches since those teams don't matter. Who cares who the coach is for those teams

How does that work, exactly? Say there are 3 teams in an age group. Gold team is set before tryouts, or almost entirely. Gold team coach probably not engaged in tryouts unless a mini Messi shows up. White team is almost entirely set before tryouts, maybe looking to add a few players. Tryouts happen. I imagine the white team coach selects who he wants from the tryouts, and then the black team coach chooses from the rest?

They posted their gold team coaches for boys but not for girls older than U12.

Clarification. Gold is ECNL R. The “partnership” with NVA is the pathway to a National team option.

Luckily(?) the Black team always seems to need players to have enough for their games so Gold players have played down with them since they have no games.

DS #2 is an employee of CYA soccer and also separately an employee of Valor soccer and coaches U15 boys.

Coach Gus (Gustavo) is taking over the U11 girls gold team. From what I have heard he is excellent, so those girls will likely be in a good spot with him.

Coach Gus is currently 2009B White Coach and yes, well liked. Good communicator. Kids liked and seemed to respect him. Practices run by him were much better than Gold Coach.
