Simple. That's because the VAST majority of the talent goes private.
McLean has two 2025s that are being recruited and a senior who has already committed to a D1 program but as we know people refuse to acknowledge that the team has talent.
Just about ALL the talent goes private.

First I’ve heard of a d1 player on McLean. Can’t decide if they are actually good or another year of being gassed up by over enthusiastic parents

Yeah ok. also heard they have couple 2033s coming up who have shown promise and a stellar 2042, just born yesterday, who seems to have great left hand shot.
Are you always this big a d-bag or only in years where your school is having a down season?
Trying to decide if it is a Langley, Yorktown, or Madison parent.

NVYLL numbers are dropping and local clubs are not as good at developing players.
