oh the irony

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/jun/16/trump-gets-name-of-his-doctor-wrong-as-he-challenges-biden-to-cognitive-test

On Saturday night Trump, who turned 78 on Friday, returned to the theme during a speech in Detroit, Michigan to the rightwing group, Turning Point Action. He sarcastically quipped that Biden “doesn’t even know what the word ‘inflation’ means”, and challenged his rival in the 2024 election to take a cognitive test just as he had done when he was in the White House.

Trump told his audience that he had “aced” the cognitive test following advice from the then presidential physician, a Republican member of Congress whom he named as Ronny Johnson. “Has anyone heard of Ronny Johnson, congressman from Texas?” he asked the crowd.

“He was the White House doctor, and he said I was the healthiest president, he feels, in history. So I liked him very much.”

The Ronny Johnson who administered Trump’s test was in fact Ronny Jackson, who represents Texas’s 13th congressional district. Jackson has been one of Trump’s most loyal advocates since entering the US House in 2021.

Watch, Dr. Spaceman is going to change his name to Johnson and say that's what it was all along

I certainly hope you're right, but the CEO and billionaire class have been split on him since Trump's decision to run again. Sadly, some have thrown in their lot with him, and already given him a ton of money.

This is not a homogeneous group, and they don't act in concert.

Yep, they will ultimately decide that his severe dementia just makes him even easier to manipulate than during the first term.

Except Trump won’t remember. He’s gotten significantly worse just over the last few months. Remember him falling asleep in the courtroom. That’s not normal for a criminal defendant.

Not remembering makes it easier to get him to do what they want. He won’t be running anything. It will all be his appointees and advisors.

That's just not true. Trump is pure ID, his "appointees and advisors" are powerless nothings who can do whatever they want as long as their oily master hasn't taken notice - but as soon as he does pay any attention it's just whatever stupid deranged thought is going through his mind at that moment, that becomes manifest. Transactional means that he can make a rational agreement and stick to it. Is that your understanding of how Trump works? It's not what I've observed.

He's chaotic. Dumb Trump lovers always try to sell us on the chaos - it means he's unpredictable! Everyone's going to get in line because you never know what's coming! Do you think that's how businesses like to operate? They are banking on him, even in his most addled and deranged moments, still hating the environment, regulations, and taxes - that's the only reason they would normally support him. But if they think he's too addled even to stick with those things, or might do stuff that's much worse and who knows when it'll happen, maybe they will jump ship.

That said I'll believe it when I see it/

That just makes this Virginia voter extra motivated to vote against Trump.

Oh they noticed finally? CEOs are always patting themselves on the back for their great discernment and they couldn’t discern this?

Yeah. But they know Trump is transactional. Trump’s dementia means that the business deal isn’t going to work. I’m sure they would have all gotten behind Haley or liz Cheney had either of them been the nominee. But the GOP went with Trump. The debate will really take the blinders off.
