Heard from a friend that went last night, and the 07s had a few (5?) new kids out there. Supposedly the new coach puled aside the existing kids one by one and asked them if they were sticking around or not (most said no). Same thing happened with the 08s.

If you’re going to make stuff up, at least give your post some thought before hitting submit to consider whether its own words demonstrate its falsity.

You can make up your mind and put your head in the sand, but I guarantee you it wasn't made up.

I suppose your friend’s daughter spoke with each of those players afterward and most of them swore that they told coach they weren’t coming. Or perhaps your friend spoke with coach and he told your friend this directly. Or maybe she had one of those mikes they use at NFL games and listened in on the one-on-one conversations herself. Got it. Good intel. Thanks.

Do you not have a DD that plays soccer? Or does she not have friends? If you don't think all these girls (who were forced into this situation by the coaches quitting midseason) aren't talking to each other about their plans and what was said last night, etc. then you're sadly mistaken.

Nobody respects this guy. The parents have conveyed this to AB but guess what, they just hired him full time. LOL. Lots of GA2 players waiting in the wings to take over along with the new influx of Brave players. Some of which were already shed by FCV in the past. Just wait until they get into the GA and get hammered because they haven't had any real competition. That's what destroyed the Brave organization.

This post also is demonstrably false. If you look at the rankings app for his 3 teams, you can see that 4-0 deficits are not common. For his 2010s, 4-0 leads are more common. That also doesn’t tell me whether he’s a good or bad coach, but it does tell me that someone is just making stuff up. Would be awesome if someone who actually knows the guy could shed some light.

DR on paper really seems like a person that's doing what he can to push himself into becoming a great coach. Nobody will be able to truly tell how or what he will accomplish because that can only be figured out over time. Just with any profession, there's the education side and then the real world hands on side.

Give him some time.

Are you DR’s mom or wife?

You are quoting his resume from George Mason where he was fired from? He does need some time to grow out of those diapers he's in. He's a nice guy but he sure is strange and the players don't care for him. That's all that's necessary. BTW: His coaching decisions have no logic or strategy. That's a recipe for failure. Seeing him making the selections for the teams is even more frightening.

He wasn't fired. Surely having MP as the previous coach helped him land a role there, but GMU having a new incoming HC is what drove him out. He continued there even after GMU parted ways with MP early in their season last fall. Only after AB was announced is when he was out, which makes sense, new coaches want their people in place and DR wasn't one of them.

So he was fired.

It’s a solid resume for someone his age. It would be great to hear from someone who has actually seen him coach.

My guess is that a bunch of the current FCV GA players (not GA2) will end up at ECNL programs and the balance will follow their current coaches to VRSC, with none of them remaining at FCV, so I actually agree with your conclusion. But my guess is based on what would seem to be in their best interest, not my friend’s daughter having canvassed her teammates to find out what each of them told the new coach in their one-on-one conversations.

FCV will charge the same.

SYC is almost half as much, its gonna sting when they run circles around both these teams in the fall

Half as much and then hit you with “ team fees”.

FCV and VRSC are the kings of 'team fees'.

In the past has FCV had GA1, GA2 and a 3rd team called "United" for each age group? I thought they usually maxed out at 2 teams per age group.

This is the setup I've seen with FCV recently.

U12 and below, they're maximizing as much as they can to spread a net that somewhat allows players to get to the 1st team. Programming is spread out in the DMV, but I believe their 1st teams are generally located in Loudoun still.

U13 - U15 when their GA programming begins, they field two teams, GA1 and GA2, haven't seen United at these ages. Programming still based in Loudoun. GA2 generally in EDP.

U16+ they have GA and United. They will roster PT players from the United teams. GA programming still in Loudoun, United teams training there too but some teams have a footprint near their Springfield location. United teams playing NCSL and usually sandbagging.
