We have a fairly engaged community. They weren't interested in either candidate.
Guess that's what happens when the bullies/MAGAs scare away all of the decent candidates.
Don’t forget that if not for the Dem caucus the pool of candidates would be much larger. How many federal employees have been basically shut out because Arlington Dems insist on this process?
Once again, someone failed to actually READ the Hatch Act.
Can we stop with this misinformed nonsense about why Symone couldn’t run already? It’s been three years!
I'm confused- I have read the Hatch act- the hatch act definitely precluded Symone from running in the democrats 'endorsement' process. Something she absolutely should have understood from the get go. Yes, the hatch act does not preclude someone running for school board- a non-partisan position. But when ACDC insists on having an 'endorsement caucus' and when a majority of arlington votes the acdc sample ballot the combination of the 'endorsement caucus' and the hatch act do indeed preclude federal employees from successfully running for school board.

Are Miranda's hateful supporters going to stop their attacks on parents, teachers, angelo supporters, school board members?
Not based on DCUM threads.
What attacks are these, specifically?
On this very thread, we’ve had APE attacks against the SB and parents. See other threads for attacks on teachers and Duran.
In fact, I bet the attacks ramp back up now that MT has the nomination. She’ll release the bulldogs again.
Could you point me to the attacks? Copy/paste and page numbers?
are you kidding? to put the victims through that again? umm, no.
It's probably the APEs just trying to revictimize these poor people. it's shameful.

People didn't like the candidates so they didn't vote.
OR, people knew this was going to be a blowout and just stayed home. I'm not sure why people are spinning a 50-point margin of victory as some embarrassment, except for the fact they don't appreciate a sharp turn towards competence on the SB.

Yeah, you have to hold your nose and do it as an Independent. The way I see it is, for the purposes of the Arlington School Board race (and almost all Arlington races), everyone in Arlington is a Democrat. The alternate is to have no vote that matters at all. So that's how I sign the pledge. (Also, it's not enforceable in any way.)
It is tough for people whose jobs prevent them from signing this kind of a pledge. My spouse is a journalist and couldn't vote because she can't sign this kind of a pledge.
