Jeffries only needs 6 votes. Too bad there isn't any moderate republicans...

I am 100% convinced that Barbara Comstock is on this site and just quoted one of the comments made on this thread!! ABC news.

Donalds, in particular, but I wouldn't look too much into it. In the close ups, when they miss the vote, they're usually just distracted on their phone.

How many no shows so far? Will that throw the vote to Jeffery?

No, they'll get called again at the end. It's happened every round, and only Spatz has voted "present" so far.

Spartz waits until the end to ensure that her vote doesn't matter and then votes Present. She's ready for McCarthy to give up and the Caucus meet to figure out who can get 218 votes.

It appears unlikely anyone can get 218 right now. The HFC has said they will oppose Scalise.

Present, again. The vote has not changed from yesterday, except Gaetz defected from Donalds to Trump.

Did everyone vote?

Yes.

What if there are no shows instead of present?

No difference.

Oh, present again.

Is the gallery open to ordinary visitors? I'd love to go sit and watch.

After this vote, Jeffries will have received more cumulative votes for Speaker than Tip O'Neill received. O'Neill was Speaker of the House for 10 years.

Doesn’t matter. Donalds already has 6 votes and Trump has 1. On to Round 8?

What's meaningful is whether McCarthy has swayed any of the 20 hold outs, and so far, I don't think he's picked any of them up. Roy was optimistic of giving McCarthy some votes yesterday after talks, but he just voted for Donalds again.
