Go woke and go broke is going to be DeSantis' presidential rallying cry.
Coukd Maryland give Disney a Special deal to take over six flags DC area ? It is so run down and depressing now.
Maryland isnt an attractive destination for business.
Disney wont leave Orlando. It is making money hand over fist in Florida. The weather is favorable to a year round theme park-- this would not work in Maryland. They dont deal with snow, they can operate their water rides and outdoor hotel pools year round. They are in a tax, business, and employment environment that is highly favorable. Maryland could never.
Just the weather aspect is massive. I live 6 hours north of Orlando and yet I used my outdoor pool every day in February of this year. Disney's entire schtick is being an outdoor theme park and resort. They are in a location that would be hard to top anywhere else.
And come on. Disney is light years ahead of a PG county 6 flags.
I agree with all this but also note that a few decades ago disney was actually planning on building a theme park in Virginia. People pitched a fit and they backed off. And many of their rides are increasingly indoor. VR rides that can be done pretty much anywhere. So this whole thing probably is making disney wonder whether they shouldnāt start diversifying out of Florida a bit.
I do really hope disney has something up their sleeves for desantis. Right now I think they might just be a waiting for him to really overstep and hand them a good first amendment suit. Iām not sure what else they can do.

You mean democrats don't like to be canceled?
Funny, and all this time I've been thinking they take pleasure in canceling others.
How does it feel?

I find this incredibly amusing. Of course it's not serious and is just being used to make a point. And oh, what a point! No doubt it's gone right over Democrats' heads.
Except he is being serious. That isn't making a point, it is budding authoritarianism. You are acting like the Germans in 1933 and are pefrectly happy to let it happen.
Exaggerate often??
